Lisa Fine wallpaper

The first thing I learned to draw from a friend Lalla Pollites - who later went on to illustrate and create Tank Girl, was a palm tree. I sat on her kitchen table in Dianella and drew palm tree after palm tree, I must have been about 8.
This is perhaps why I love Lisa Fine's interior and wallpaper design so much. Also the clash of the pink and green tones is magic.

Light Vs Shade with a dash of colour...

Walking around East Brunswick is a great visual source - derelict in parts and quietly polished in others...here is a glimpse from a myriad of iphone quick snaps I took whilst on a daily dusk walk...The light was streaming down the road and hitting the disheveled domestic exteriors, which as a scene was quiet beautiful - looking at these dwellings perhaps in any other light may be depressing but not this late afternoon.

TUBULAR BELLS 'for 2'...then onto HOUSE SHOES

Last Thursday night I went along with a good friend to see a rendition by 2 Sydney-siders, of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells...not bad, but, after the performance and a few lovely picks at MOVIDAs - we got scooped up by P and taken to a free gig at The Espi to see HOUSE SHOES. The intimate crowd got a great 'lil set from the Detroit DJ - P would probably have more profound things to say about the records he spun, perhaps I should have got him to post this post as he intended on doing - ANYWAYS here is a coupla trusty hipstamatic pix...all in all, it was a cracker night cause it ended on the dance floor, just the way we like it.
